Biography:

Dr.  Li Dan is an associate professor at the School of International Affairs and Public Administration (SIAPA). She received her B.A. from Ocean University of China and Ph.D. from Sun Yat-sen University, she is also a visiting scholar at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (2016-2017).

In recent years, she has published more than 10 papers in journals such as Political Science Research, Chinese Administration, Journal of Public Administration, Administration Forum, Sustainability, Journal of Chinese Governance, Public Money & Management, etc. She is the chair of several research funds, including a national natural science fund, a humanity and social science fund of the Ministry of Education and a China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.

Focusing on PPP, government-enterprise relationship, and local government hidden debt risks, her research mainly follows in three aspects. The first is the analysis of PPP policy and governance system, consisting of policy analysis, information disclosure and comparative studies. This research aims to provide inspiration for the theory and practice of PPP standard development. The second is regarding PPP as one of the government financing tools and explains the development of PPP in China from the perspective of financing structure. A series of papers analyze the government financing structure, aiming to provide inspiration for preventing and resolving financial risks. The third focuses on China’s municipal marketization process especially in urban water area by conducting case studies, aiming to detect interactive mechanisms between government and enterprises such as SOEs, foreign investors and private companies.
