孔道春,男,北京⼤学⽣命学院,博⼠⽣导师。1983年毕业于兰州⼤学,上海⽣化所硕⼠,美国坦普尔⼤学博⼠,哈佛⼤学医学院,斯隆•凯特琳癌症研究中⼼和NIH博⼠后研究⼯作;2005到北京⼤学⼯作⾄今。
Kong lab focuses on the mechanisms of eukaryotic DNA replication, replication forks stability, the formation of chromatin structures, and DNA recombination and double-stranded DNA break repair.
1.Discovered a novel replication initiation protein Sap1/Girdin in eukaryotes;
2.Determined the structure of replication origins in fission yeast and metazoans. The DNA origins in fission yeast to metazoans contain two essential origin elements with one bound by ORC and the other by Sap1/Girdin.
3.Discovered a new cellular regulation pathway for stabilizing stalling replication forks---the chromsfork control.
4.Found that the chromsfork control is directly related to the formation of heterochromatin domains.
5.Identified the replicative complex CMG as a key target of checkpoint for preventing stalling replication forks from collapse.
6.Elucidated the mechanism of Okazaki fragment maturation.
7.Studying the mechanism of DNA recombination and repair of double-strand DNA breaks.
