On October 21, 2019, the 8th Haichuan Forum—“Sensor Application in the Study of the Circulation of Marine Environmental Biogenic Elements, sponsored by the Key Laboratory of Marine Chemistry Theory and Technology, Ministry of Education, was held in the First Conference Room of Laoshan campus library. The theme of this forum is the research and development of various sensors and their application in the study of the circulation of marine environmental biogenic elements. More than ten experts and scholars from Yantai Coastal Zone Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Lakes, Jilin University, Northeast University, Tsinghua University, the second Institute of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Southern University of Science and Technology and other universities and scientific research institutes, as well as more than 90 researchers, teachers and graduate students from the Institute of Oceanography of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Instrumentation of Shandong Academy of Sciences, and OUC participated in the seminar.

At the beginning of the seminar, Wang Yujiang, Secretary of CHEM/MCTL, OCU, introduced the development history of the University and the college/the Key Laboratory, as well as the current situation of scientific research and teacher staff, gave a warm welcome to experts and scholars from various units and teachers and students attending the seminar, and hoped to strengthen the cooperation of domestic research teams through this conference; and then professor Zhang Guiling, the vice president of CHEM and the vice dean of MCTL, introduced the research on the marine environmental biogenic elements projected by the college and the key laboratory and on the field of sensors, and gave a welcome speech. Researcher Qin Wei and Pan Dawei from Yantai Coastal Zone Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, associate professor of Tsinghua University Zhou Xiaohong, assistant researcher of the Ministry of Natural Resources Han Chenhua, assistant professor of South University of Science and Technology Bi Zhaoshun, etc. were specially invited to give detailed lectures on the detection technology and research progress of various trace elements in water body and marine environment, such as biogenic elements, heavy metals, and so on; Specially invited Professor Sun Ting from Northeast University, researcher Ding Shiming from Nanjing Institute of Geography and Lakes and Professor Hua Xiuyi from Jilin University gave explanations and comments on the application of DGT In-Situ Passive Sampling Techniques and plane light pole field test methods in water and soil environment and marine sedimentary environment. In addition, Professor Cao Xiaoyan and associate professor Song Guodong from the CHEM and MCKL, OCU, reported and exchanged their research progress on microelectrode technology and its application; students Shi Tian and Ma Weiwei on molecularly imprinted quantum dots sensor and DGT technology in the detection application of pore water in marine sediments, respectively. The seminar was hosted by Professor Yang Guipeng from OUC, Professor Sun Ting from Northeast University, Professor Hua Xiuyi from Jilin University and Professor Zhu Maoxu from OUC.
