The first meeting of the Second MCTL Academic Committee (Ocean University of China) was held on May 19 in Qingdao. Present at the meeting were 10 committee members including Prof. Pingan Peng, academician of Chinese Academy of Science and new laboratory director of Academic Committee; Prof. Baorong Hou, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and deputy director of the Academic Committee; and Prof. Yang Li, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and member of the Mcademic Committee.
The Academic Committee was chaired by director of OUC Department of Science and Technology Yihe Luo and academician Pingan Peng. Vice president of OUC Weiran Li attended the meeting and made a speech of welcome. Prof. Meixun Zhao, the lab director, made an inclusive work report, followed by reports from chief scientists and young teachers of different scopes.
Liqi Chen from Third Institute of Oceanography, and Prof. Jiasong Fang from Shanghai Ocean University, were also invited to attend the meeting, together with all MCTL members，responsible comrades from OUC Department of Science and Technology, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
