On the afternoon of March 22, 2023, the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering invited Liu Chao, Vice President of Haiying Enterprise and alumnus of China Ocean University Class of '97, to give a special lecture entitled "Sonic Waves Serving the Country, Building Dreams in the Deep Blue" to students and faculty. The lecture was hosted by Gao Wei, Vice Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering at China Ocean University, and was attended by undergraduate and graduate students majoring in acoustics, computer science, and electronic information.

On August 20th, the first CCF Quantum Computing Conference (CQCC 2022) was held in Zhengzhou, and the award ceremony for the CCF "Sinan Cup" Quantum Computing Programming Challenge was held. The "Sinan Bùnàn Team" composed of master's students Li Yanan and Shang Ruimin, and undergraduate students Xing Ruipeng, Han Rongbing, and Li Yongchang from the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering at Ocean University of China won the first prize.

This challenge was organized by CCF with the support of the CCF Quantum Computing Professional Group and the Anhui Province Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center. Since the opening of registration at the end of March, the competition has received widespread attention from quantum computing enthusiasts and related professionals at home and abroad. Participating teams included nearly 200 universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Wuhan University, Ocean University of China, New York University Stony Brook, and dozens of companies such as Jianxin Fintech and Accenture. The competition has three different tracks: general, finance, and biochemical engineering, and nearly 700 teams participated in the competition. The competition awards are few but of high value, including a cash prize of 40,000 yuan, signed books from academicians, Origin Quantum offer direct signing cards, Jianxin Fintech President interview direct access cards, and DeMei Chemicals interview direct access cards.

With the continuous increase of data information in various industries, the demand for computing power is increasing day by day. Quantum computing has become a core breakthrough point for future computing power, and global technology giants are rushing to lay out their strategies accordingly. Currently, quantum computing technology is gradually moving out of the laboratory and entering the industrial and engineering stages. It has made breakthrough achievements in fields such as financial engineering, biochemical engineering, artificial intelligence, and intelligent manufacturing, and is expected to lead the development of the next generation of information industry.

The competition lasted for 4 months, and participating students completed encryption and decryption, finance, and weather forecasting projects in the preliminary and final rounds with excellent results. On July 23rd, the defense was conducted online. Through specific introductions on the algorithm's implementation process, generality, innovation, and other aspects, the defense experts asked questions, reviewed and scored the team from various dimensions. Eventually, the "Sinan Bùnàn Team" won the first prize. The competition played a great role in promoting students' learning of quantum computing theory and improving their application capabilities.
