Students from the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering Wins First Prize
in National University Electronic Design Contest.

On December 19th, the 2021 National University Electronic Design Contest came to a close in Xi'an. The entry "Internet-based Camera Measurement System," created by Wang Zhehan, Quan Hongda, and Xie Yuanhao, all students majoring in Optoelectronics Information Science and Engineering from the class of 2019, under the guidance of Professor Cheng Kai and Associate Professor Shang Xiangnian from the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering at Ocean University of China, won first prize in the national competition.
The project built a network environment consisting of camera nodes and terminal nodes, achieving real-time frame selection of a swinging-state laser pen and precise measurement of pendulum length and swing direction angle. The work outstandingly completed all the requirements for the basic and extended parts of the competition.
The National University Electronic Design Contest is one of the student discipline competitions advocated by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is a science and technology activity for university students aimed at promoting the curriculum systems and content of information and electronic-related disciplines, as well as encouraging higher education institutions to promote teaching reform, curriculum reform, and laboratory construction through the competition's closely related professional course systems and content.
