主要研究方向及成果：
主从事纽形动物、卤虫等无脊椎动物的形态分类、个体生物学、系统发育与进化。近期研究兴趣包括：纽形动物等海洋无脊椎动物的形态分类与物种多样性调查，近缘物种的分子鉴别与DNA分类，种下进化与物种形成；青藏高原卤虫的比较生物学与适应进化。发表论著100余篇/部，获国家科技进步奖、海洋局科技创新奖等奖励。
