主要研究方向：
主要研究领域为海洋化能合成生态系统（如深海热液、冷泉以及浅海富含有机质的沉积环境）中海洋无脊椎动物（以贝类为主）与微生物的共生关系、物种适应性演化、生物矿化以及种群连通性。采用的手段包括深海原位实验、生物信息学、分子生物学、同位素化学等。
迄今上述成果累计在（包括Nature Ecology & Evolution, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Communications, Molecular Biology & Evolution, ISME Journal, Microbiome等领域顶级）刊物上发表论文100多篇。担任Frontiers in Marine Science领域主编、Marine Life Science & Technology“基础生物学领域”编委、The Innovation 和The Innovation Geoscience青年编委；Science Advances, Nature Communications, ISME Journal, Molecular Biology and Evolution等杂志审稿人；第17届国际深海生物学会（DSBS）学术委员成员。

Despite the hostile environment, the hydrothermal vent and cold seep ecosystems support dense populations of macrobenthos which, with the help of chemoautotrophic endosymbionts, are fuelled by simple reduced molecules such as methane and hydrogen sulfide. Studying vent and seep organisms may answer fundamental questions about their origin and evolution, population connectivity, as well as the adaptation to the extreme environments. We mainly employ a molecular-based -omics approach, combined with physical oceanography modelling, physico-chemical analysis, as well as field surveys.
