为适应当时国内、国际外国语言文化研究的新形势新动态新发展,我校于十多年前成立了外国语言文化研究所。该所是一个以文化研究为导向、以“跨文化交际与英语教育相结合”为目标,对外国文学、语言学、翻译学、教学法等学科进行专题研究的综合性研究机构。它以研究文化的深层结构为主线,用跨学科和比较研究的方法和崭新视角审视外国语言文化现象,改变传统单学科孤立地进行研究的方法,从而使外国语言文化研究无论是在内容还是在形式上都能有所突破。
多年来通过杨自俭、张德禄、林少华、李庆祥、杨连瑞、刘汝山、李龙海、罗顺江和邓红风等诸位教授的不懈努力,本所该方面的研究取得了部分实质性成果,但仍远远不足。
今后几年,本所将努力发展横向科研协作,以便扩大自筹资金的渠道。在科研方向上将着力打造影响宽广的拳头产品,重点抓好相关系列丛书的撰写与出版工作,为青年教师、博士生和研究生撰写的相关研究论文提供发表园地,并且鼓励更多研究人员在国家级核心刊物上发表论文。本所也将为扩大学科点等学科建设工作做出重要贡献。

Introduction
In order to adapt to the new situation and fast development of foreign languages & cultures research, our university set up her foreign languages & cultures research institute in the neighborhood of ten years ago. Taking the cultures research as its guide, and the "combination cross-cultural communication with English education" as its goal, the Institute is a comprehensive research institution which takes a monographic study on certain subjects, such as foreign literature, linguistics, translation, teaching methodology and so on. The researchers mainly study the deep structure of culture, which is regarded as its principal line. With interdisciplinary and comparative study methods, we make use of a brand new perspective to inspect foreign language literature phenomena, changing the isolate study method of traditional single discipline. In this way, the foreign languages & cultures research will make breakthroughs not only in the form but also in the content.
Over the years, thanks to the painstaking efforts made by professors such as Yang Zijian, Zhang Delu, Lin Shaohua, Li Qingxiang, Yang Lianrui, Liu Rushan, Li Longhai, Luo Shunjiang and Deng Hongfeng, the Institute has made certain relevant research achievements. However, it is far from being sufficient.
In coming years, the Institute will spare no efforts to develop scientific research collaboration and expand the channels of self-raised funds. In terms of scientific research, she will focus on far-reaching hit products, putting emphasis on the writing and publication work of series of books. It will undoubtedly provide publication chances for young teachers, Ph.D candidates and postgraduates, encouraging more researchers to publish academic papers on core periodicals. What’s more, it will also contribute a lot to the discipline construction such as expanding subject range.
